[...] The Paper Bicycle, designed by Nick Lobnitz, was recently exhibited at Velo City 2010 in Copenhagen (the bike that you see pictured here has the event’s logo on the chain guard). It comes as a 1 speed or an 8 speed, but as Philip Douglas of Simpel points out, “for hire systems it also comes with the new NuVinci N360.” Personally, I am happy to see a new bike that was designed with bike sharing programs in mind. In addition to the Paper Bicycle, Nick designs bike trailers. You can read an interview with him on that subject at the Bike Trailer Blog. [...]

Around five years back I contacted Nick directly enquiring information about his City Trailer. Nick volunteered to send one without receiving any up front payment whatsoever to my home in the Orkney Islands of Scotland. I was so impressed with the functionality and outstanding build quality I called Nick and made the payment. Since then it has been in constant use here at home and in Europe, next trip starting 19 May 2010 to the Netherlands, Germany, and the Czech Republic. I shall fly to Schiphol then train to my other destinations. Great thing is the City trailer is allowed on planes, trains, and ferries without restrictions and surcharges as it folds up and then classed as luggage. Nick has done well to design such a boon to cyclists and, if you think the price is high then think again, this trailer is a one off lifetime payment that will serve you well and will expand your destinations to much further afield than you would otherwise reach with a regular trailer, and all without the extra travel cost burdens on the wallet. It has saved me a fortune, and pays for itself. It should be considered above all else. Check out his website. Regards to all cyclists. John.
